Family Devotion Day 4: What about those who don’t know Jesus?

LUKE 15:21-24 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

God feels special concern for those who do not know Him. They are like the people of Athens that Paul met, who worship many idols but do not have God. Do you care as much as God does about those who do not know Him?

In the story of the lost son in today’s reading, the father waits for the son to return from his life of sin. When he returns, the father runs towards the son. He puts on the best clothes for him. He throws a party for him. The father is filled with joy when his son returns to him.

God wants you to feel the same joy when a sinner turns to Him. This is the first step to turn Singapore towards God.

Do you feel as God does towards those who do not know Jesus? How can you form the same kind of heart and love for them?
Has God shown you one thing you can do to reach out to someone who does not know Jesus? How can you do so?

/ Pray

Pray for God to put His heart inside of yours so that you can feel as He feels for the lost, and love as He loves.
Pray for God to help you do the one thing to reach out to the person He has shown you. Pray that you will not be afraid of what people will say.
