In a world where people believe in different things, many try to win others to their side by using arguments, fights and even war. Not all weapons can be seen. Words can also be used as a weapon to hurt people. When weapons like unkind words are used, people get angry and hurt.

The Bible tells us that we should be gentle and humble like Jesus, and to consider and discuss our different beliefs respectfully. Our words of kindness will encourage people and help them to see the kindness of Jesus.

Let’s win Singapore for God with gentleness and respect, not with weapons.

What does it mean to be gentle and respectful?
How will you be gentle and respectful to someone who does not behave in the same way?
What is something in you that God wants to change so that you can become more like Jesus – gentle and humble in heart?

Pray that God will open your eyes to see where you have been unkind and disrespectful.
Pray that God will help you to think of words that are kind, gentle and respectful before you speak, especially to those who are not gentle.
