Family Devotion Day 3: Keep watch and keep praying!
Read
Learn
Jesus tells us to watch and pray. The Son of God often went away by Himself to pray to His heavenly Father. As followers of Jesus, we should follow His example to spend time with God and to pray. What do we watch for and how do we pray?
Watch and pray against Satan
Satan is the number-one enemy of God and also our number-one enemy. Pray that Jesus will destroy the devil’s work in our lives.
Watch and pray against sin
What is sin? It is doing something that God has told us not to do. Do you disobey your parents? Are you unkind to your brothers and sisters? Do you think bad thoughts about the annoying classmate? Ask God to show you what sin you have in your heart. Ask God to forgive you of these sins.
Watch and pray for your sanctification
When we follow Jesus, He will clean us and shape us to be like Him so that we can be set apart for Him. This is called sanctification. Have you allowed Jesus to change you? Spend time reading the Bible and speaking to Jesus so that you will know how He wants you to think, speak and act.
