Family Devotion Day 33: Worship God in and out of church!

Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Sometimes God’s people spend so much time in church that they do not have time to go out and share the Gospel with people who don’t know Jesus. 

Do you remember a time you were excited when you learnt something new and could not wait to tell everyone about it? This is exactly how new Christians feel because they are so excited to share about Jesus whom they have just learnt about!

You can show Jesus to people so that more people will believe in Him. You can do this by:

  1. Making new friends 
  2. Listening to them and hearing what makes them sad or happy
  3. Praying for them

When they know Jesus, they will join us to share Jesus with other people too. 

Jesus loves and wants everyone to follow Him. When we tell people about Jesus, it is like shining a bright light in the dark: Everything becomes clear. 

Knowing Jesus helps people see how they can be forgiven for the wrong things they have done. Knowing Jesus means we will be able to join God in heaven one day.

May you be brave and look out for those who need to hear the truth about Jesus Christ.

  • When was the last time you learnt something new about the Gospel that excited you? 
  • Who is Jesus asking you to make friends with today so that you can share the Gospel with them?
/ Pray
  • Pray that the Gospel will be told throughout the world to all countries. (Matthew 24:14) 
  • Pray God’s promise that you will receive power from the Holy Spirit so you can share about Jesus wherever you go. (Acts 1:8)
  • Pray that God will show you how to keep sharing the Gospel so that everyone will know of His salvation.
